I am in the process still of redoing my blog here and gallery of images. I have been able to view which sites have infringed on my copyright protected artworks, photographs and text from my blogs, web sites and web posting. Stealing web content is not uncommon of course and having taken images of artworks for personal use I can say I am guilty. But some folks steal content to use as their own, for profit and to boost their own sites. I have found my copyright protected text and images of my artworks on a local face and body competitors site, here at Blogger - those crappy site showing various body paintings and body art, meant I guess to draw you into more lurid sites perhaps and on sites as hidden pages used to draw traffic to their sites. Hidden content is not uncommon, sad it is how my local competition is using my content. Text they could have easily written in thier own words and posted openly - lazy, thefts who want to draw clients away from me.

Well there are ways to solve these issues. For now I will be posting a new gallery. Unfortuately Google slash Blogger does very little to protect blog content of images and text. Ball's in my court!

Well sad but all my images are gone. There were quite a few images of my body paintings but.....
Yes this was a full image site and popular.
I will pull them from Picasa and we'll see what happens.

Now Booking Models For Body Painting

Fall is here and my tattoo and face art business slows, I am booking now for body painting.

I am working in a few concept genres and unless you are a top professional I do not entertain the idea of concept shoots. In my experience young new aspiring models and photographers have a fantasy idea for a concept shoot - which sounds great - however I do not cover the expenses of your idea. I do collaborate and am for hire on concept shoots as these require talents, including makeup artist and hair stylists, and perhaps a prop master.

Several Artworks As yet Unfinished - Unedited

I am posting a few images that still need some editing - in fact just about all me artworks are being edited and into nicely viewable artworks by my collaborator, photographer, Rich Tosti. Yes we should publish unedited works but it does some times take time and the last year we were just so busy. I will most likely come in a edit out these images and upload the new edits in 2011.

Painting all these images was as always a learning step along my journey as a body painting artist. in 2009 and into 2010 I continues to feel and master the paint itself. I learned a good lesson about competition and staying true to my abstract soul which make the prospect of future competitions seem appealing. And I dislike but participate and support competition. I am looking forward to 2011.

Body Painting Models

Must be durable! This last week - feeling oh so bad about having one of my model slip down a tree. Yes you read that right. Poor dear had one very scraped up leg!

I have painted quite a bit of late but haven't been posting pics quiet as much. Artists tend to hold back images before gallery events or publication - and when they just get so right brained and busy.

I am looking for models for a class with world champion body painters Brian Wolfe and Nick Wolfe.

I was very busy painting since my last post. I also have been very busy gearing up for a busy season with my face painting and airbrush face and tattoo entertainment company. And now sleep deprived from a great two week run of safe and sober grad nights, I am feeling blessed. Of course all this busy work meant I was unable to show some body art. But I will post some of the newest work. I am now to getting ready to dive into summer body art painting projects, which include black lights and more effects. Come back soon.

I have a s tack of several CD's full of body art paintings.......... and at some point I am going to look at them! and post new image. I've been bust painting but psoting has slacked...... working on it.

Did paint today and cool abstract - unfortunately not a lot of photos were take........ don't ask - just a weird shoot, but thankfully we did get a few nice shots!

Summer Body Painting

Here's an abstract I painted on a model I really like work with, Kate. It was done this summer while my friend Mark Reid was visiting.

Later I traveled to the World Body Painting Festival in Seeboden, Austria to be Mark's assistant. What a thrill, I love working with and for Mark who placed 5th overall in sponge and brush. I, a bit ill prepared and very nervously, competed in the face painting and simply wanted to have fun did not want to place last. I had fun and owe much of that to my really wonderful model. I placed 19th overall.

Well, I am all set to head this summer to Austria for the World Body Painting Festival.
It is my sheer delight and honor to be assisting master body painter Mark Reid. I will help him with two classes and in painting his entries to the Festival competition. Certainly there are better painters than I who would love to have been asked, I however know Marks trusts he can let it all hang loose in those stressful finial moments of competition when the going gets ugly - and when it flies.....look out. And when it's over it's all joy win or lose. Of course we do not plan to lose.

Men As Body Art Models

We are as humans so taken with the female form that the lines of the male form is overlooked. This seems certainly true in body art painting.
Men do pose for trade shoots or when the genre says manly - but I love to just follow the lines of my canvas and create art from my heart.

Now too here I'm guilty ......... less of thinking a guy is best for a skeletal shoot - but frankly I just really like skeletons. And I most especially like day of the dead art and punk music - so when I met Kyle, what else could I paint but art from my heart.

New Paint

I have some great new cakes of Aquacolor Kryolan to use tomorrow.
I haven't used Aquacolor Vivid colors in some time so I am looking forward to playing with them.

Whatta Week

Well model mishaps abounded this week and two long scheduled body paintings didn't happen.
Too bad - one is on hold and the other carried over to next week. I'm looking forward to that albeit a faerie shoot.
It's still very green out and at over 80 degrees today we want to hurry out before everything turns brown. Spring doesn't stay long in northern Cali.

Well hopefully this weeks two shoots fair better.......

Spring Body Painting

Well I have been quite busy painting and the next two weeks will continue the pace.

I had a great day last week painting on the first day of spring - just some fun vibrant colors that played nicely when photographed against the backdrop of the new greens of spring. I'm looking forward to seeing all we accomplished.

Master Painters Come to Town

Last June Kurt Drake and April Powell came to stay with me and in September Pashur.

In May Mark Reid will come - and as always I a thrilled to see my dear friends and mentors. I love learning from them and painting with them.

Go-Go Dancers

Thanks to Gi-Gi and Gary for coming out last night to have Diva Gi-Gi glamed up for a Go-Go Dancer competition in Davis. We blinged her out with gems and glitter and send her off into the cold night .......... brrrr dancing in the winter, those girls are so brave just to get from the car to the club......

A New Year To Create Amazing Art

Yesterday was wintery day - gray skies and a very cold studio.
Not my best artwork trying to paint on a model covered in goosebumps.
But we got some nice shots thanks to RStephenT and our model Cypress.
So what else do you do on a cold day - create art.

Body Painting At The Barn

This last weekend I painted two models with fairly simple designs in an old abandon barn in California wine country.
Why you may wonder would anyone hike a half mile back to painted bodies?
No we didn't need extreme privacy rather the barn lends it's rustic charm to a great photography backdrop.
Inside the barn the not in tact roof allows the light to filter in and the end results - given a great photographer are amazing.
The soft fall light was really pretty - the breeze was a bit chilly.
Bless those models - brrrrrrrrrrrrr.
